My List of the 16 Best Travel Sandals
All KEEN shoes are known for being high quality and sturdy. These travel sandals are great because of the higher traction sole and durability. These shoes tend to be a little wide, so keep that in mind if you have a narrow foot. I love KEEN shoes!
These shoes are on the higher end price-wise but are absolutely worth it! I love the style and high quality these offer, plus they’re very easy to dress up. Personally, for travel, I prefer a walking sandal like this with higher coverage to protect your foot and stay in place for miles of getting around.
If you are looking for lightweight travel sandals to use for city walking, these are great! They have a nice, sturdy rubber bottom to walk on (not so much for hiking). With a variety of 12 colors, you are sure to find one that matches any outfit.
The microfiber soft footbed in these sandals makes them ultra comfortable for travel! You’ll find the sole is very flexible, and the style is more on the athletic side. There’s even a piece to hold your toe, so you aren’t sliding around in them.

A name synonymous with quality, you can’t really go wrong with Birkenstock. I travel with these walking sandals all the time, and they are my favorite! Do remember that these shoes come in European sizes, so you might need to figure out the conversion. For example, I am a size 9 1/2 U.S. and wear a 40 or 41 in these shoes.
I use Chaco’s all the time for my travel hiking and as water shoes. I’ve hiked so many times in these. I love that you can adjust each strap as needed to make them comfortable and secure. Check out the color options available!
This sandal looks beautiful on your feet with some nice braiding! They have a great footbed and a nice rubber bottom for traction. If you like a little height in your sandal, this one offers a 1 1/2-inch heel.
These are classic travel sandals that you can wear walking the streets of a city or hiking in the hills. I personally love Teva’s and find them similar to Chaco’s but a little bit softer. There’s also a neat strap on the heel to hang them up to dry.
Take this shoe from day to evening easily with its versatile, dressy style. The straps help hold your foot in while walking during the day. The 1/2-inch platform and soft leather really make these travel sandals great for a nice dinner out, as well.
I love the combined style and price point of this shoe. The 1 1/2-inch heel gives these sandals a bit of pizazz, and the foam footbed makes you feel like you’re walking on a cloud. You can dress these up or down as you like. I’m planning on keeping a pair of these shoes!
Definitely an affordable option, these Crocs combine value and comfort. Extra lightweight, they are perfect travel sandals for a beach or pool vacation. And they don’t take up too much room in your suitcase. They do not come in half sizes, so I do recommend sizing up.
I love the cork-wrapped detail on the sides of these sandals, and the style is on point, too! There’s a place to hold your toe in place and an adjustable strap on the heel. You’ll find a variety of colors to choose from with these.
These travel sandals feature an all-day comfort footbed and genuine leather upper. The details on the top give it a little visual interest, similar to a Tory Burch sandal. These are great for a wider foot.
Several colors and a memory foam footbed make these sandals a great choice for traveling. The price point is great, too! I ended up ordering these in a tan color to keep because I loved them so much.
A rubber sole gives these cute travel sandals traction when walking all day. Each strap is adjustable for optimal support, which I love. These come in a few different colors. They’re super cute as a dressy style sandal.
A great find with a strappy style, I like the true sandal look with this option. And the straps come in lots of different colors to match your wardrobe. Something to note is the larger sizes don’t seem to come in half sizes, so you may want to size up.

Out of the 16 pairs, I might end up keeping almost half of them! My overall favorites are the Birkenstocks and Chaco’s, which I already own and wear while traveling all the time. The runners-up are Taos and the Eileen Fishers, which I might bring if I have more room in my luggage or am planning a longer trip.
Please let me know in the comments what you think are the best travel sandals because I’m always looking for new items to bring with me on my adventures!
