Pumpkin Nights is an event that takes place in multiple cities across the country, including in Austin. Take a half-mile walk through six different pumpkin-themed “lands” at this event. There’s pumpkin carving, fire dancers, tasty treats from local food vendors, and fun games for the kids. Kids and adults of all ages are welcome.
Thursday, October 31, 4 PM to 6:30 PM
The Central Market on North Lamar is hosting a fun Halloween treat-making event this year. Brew some drinks, make pumpkin pies, decorate your treats with the kitchen team, and take a selection of goodies home with you at the end. It’s unclear if the minimum age welcome is 7 or 13, so you may want to contact them first before you buy tickets.
Thursday, October 31, 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM
Take the kids trick-or-treating out of decorated car trunks at Captain Quack’s Coffeehouse! Fun prizes will be given out for the best-decorated car and the best costumes, so come dressed in your best. Kids of all ages and even pets are welcome at this Halloween event!

This Halloween event is just north of Austin, put on by the Round Rock Parks and Rec Department. It’s a family-friendly festival for toddlers and preschoolers with hay rides, a petting zoo, games, and snacks. It’s a free event, but guests are asked to bring a canned good donation for the Round Rock Food Pantry.

Gibson Street Bar is well-known around Austin for going all out for a theme! It’s one of the most popular spots around Christmastime, and they certainly don’t scrimp for Halloween, either. You can expect to see creepy clowns, sword swallowers, and the mysterious “wheel of doom” – if you dare.

The Witch House is a fun pop-up bar at Cosmic Saltillo’s Satellite Bar. Up the stairs from the main area, you’ll find spooky Halloween decor, a DJ, and movies playing on a projector on the wall. You’ve got to check out their themed shots, including the “Tell ‘Em Freddy Sent Ya” and “What’s Your Favorite Scary Movie.”

Upstairs at Caroline is another Austin bar that decorates for the holidays annually. While the official party happened early on October 26th, the Halloween decor and themed cocktail menu are there through the end of the month. They’re also doing a giveaway for a $200 credit at their upcoming holiday pop-up, “Naughty or Nice,” which you can still enter until October 31st.

Lefty’s Brick Bar in East Austin is having a month-long Halloween-themed pop-up, too. They’re serving up pizza, burgers, cocktails, and more, along with interactive and immersive areas around the bar. Try their “Pennywise Painkiller,” “Hocus Pocus,” or “Corpse Bride” cocktails!
Adult Halloween Events in Austin
Thursday, October 31, 8 PM to 11 PM
Looking for something a little more elevated and for the adults only? Then, attend the Halloween Ball & Aerial Cabaret at The Belmont on West 6th Street. They’ll have aerialist performers, contortionists, cabaret, and burlesque dancers. There are 12 acts in the show, so be ready for a full night of live entertainment while you enjoy your drinks. Costumes encouraged!

Edge is a rooftop bar on the 5th floor of the JW Marriott in downtown Austin. On Halloween, they’re hosting a spooktacular night with costumes, dancing, a DJ, and spooky cocktails. Fancy a night at the ballet, but make it spooky? The Ventana Ballet presents an immersive, adults-only Halloween show that combines elegance with the unhinged. Ready to crawl like a zombie (or whatever you’re dressed as) across Austin? This bar crawl takes you to more than six different venues. Sweet Berry Farm is located just outside Austin in Marble Falls, but is so worth the drive! It’s a classic fall destination, with a pumpkin patch, hayrides, and several mazes to explore. You can also stuff a scarecrow, paint some pumpkins, make sand art, and ride ponies! Entry and parking are free; you only pay for the activities that you want to do.

Think you can face your fears? The House of Torment has been called the “scariest haunted house in America” by the Travel Channel. Not only do they have three haunted houses, but they also have mini escape games, axe throwing, a spooky secret bar, and a zombie simulation. Costumes are not allowed for this Halloween experience – leave that to the professionals here!
