Road Trippin' in Provence & a side of Monte Carlo
Cheers from Montenegro, Travel Tribe. It’s my 2nd to last night and I’m enjoying Kotor. I’m sitting at an outdoor restaurant in the Old Town enjoying fish soup and sauteed prawns while writing this week’s email. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to travel and share ideas and tips with all of you. Be inspired, and get out there and SEE THE WORLD! Crazy Monaco Facts!
The Principality of Monaco is the 2nd smallest country in the world by kilometers after The Vatican. It’s only 2 square kilometers. That’s crazy! You can walk across the entire country in about an hour. People confuse Monaco and Monte Carlo, but they are basically the same thing (said I). Monaco is the country, and Monte Carlo is the city. If you are headed to Monte Carlo, I highly recommend staying at the Marriott in Cap D’Ail (which is actually just over the French border). It was a gorgeous hotel, well situated and the service was impeccable.

Tourettes Sur Loup
Tourettes-Sur-Loup is the medieval town of the Violets and the most charming town! Love love love this town. St. Paul de Vence is a very popular day trip from Nice, but make sure to go the extra 8km to see Tourettes Sur Loup. This is everything St. Paul de Vence should be with the shops, the views, the instagrammable streets and alley ways, but without all the people. It was my favorite stop on our road trip through Provence. I had violet jam, violet ice cream and bought a hand made coffee mug painted with violets….of course. If you get a chance to visit, consider spending the night at Auberge de Tourettes, relax and enjoy the view.
