St. Nicholas Day
The whirl wind holiday season is on, and it’s only 3 weeks this year. Hold onto your Santa hats, it’s gonna be a wild ride! This week, I’ve been celebrating my favorite day of the year, St. Nicholas Day, and I’ve been working on a new YouTube video about Plitvice Lakes National Park in Croatia, and a new blog post about last week’s compression packing cubes.

St. Nicholas Day
My favorite day of the year is St. Nicholas Day, December 6th. It’s actually the saints day, and I began celebrating St. Nicks when I was a ski instructor in Kitzbuhel, Austria. On December 6th, everyone was out enjoying and celebrating the season with gluwein, strudel, chestnuts and wurst. We’d visit friends houses and bring small gifts, and the little kids were chased through town by a Krampus, St. Nicholas’ devil helper. St. Nicholas Day was so much fun, that I’ve carried on the Dec 6th tradition for the past 22 year with a huge party, poinsettias to my clients, and calls to my friends near and far.
