Happy Tuesday Travel Tribe!
I missed you guys last week! Here is last week’s video about my day at sea on my Windstar Baltic Cruise. Today’s video is my final episode of my Baltic cruise series, where I share some money saving ideas for your on-shore excursions. And lastly this week, let’s take a stroll with our significant other in Paris or Rome or even Kathmandu… You can with your free companion pass!
My favorite gear on Amazon
Stop by The Abundant Traveler shop page to see some of my favorite travel gear; I’m so grateful when you go to Amazon through The Abundant Traveler website. Any item you click on the shop page takes you directly to Amazon, and the brand makes a small commission on all your Amazon purchases for a 24hr period. It doesn’t cost you a thing, but it is a huge help as we continue to give value to travelers with The Abundant Traveler.
Cruise Shore Excursions
Taking a cruise is a great way to get a taste of several different countries without hauling your suitcase around or figuring out your itinerary logistics. However, it might not be a good idea to book all your excursions with your cruise ship. Think about it: 5,000 people all disembarking at the same time, to be herded onto a 45 person bus to drive around your port of call. I have found that booking my own excursions is a great way to get away from the crowds and make better use of the few hours you have in port. Some of my favorite websites for booking excursions are Free Tour, Get Your Guide and EatWith. Disclaimer: When booking your own excursions, the ship won’t wait for you if you are late. Make sure your excursion is aware of your departure time.
Companion Pass Credit Cards
If you travel with a spouse, significant other or the same friend all the time, it’s so worth getting a credit card that has a ‘companion pass’ as a perk. Think about flying all over the world for two while only paying the price of one. If you travel primarily in the US and Central America, the Southwest credit card is a great option, and try AA or Barclays Aviator if international travel is your thing. My favorite credit card website is The Points Guy, and this is a great article about companion pass credit cards. Ps. I’m looking for “my companion”, so if you see him, send him my way 🙂
The FINAL Episode from the Baltic Cruise!
